Skrekas for permanently reduced prices: Next goal is 1,000 products
The initiative to “permanently reduce the price” of 500 products exceeded the government’s expectations, and now the target is 1,000 products that cover the basic needs of a household, according to the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas.
Until yesterday, 650 products from 53 companies had been included in the program, however the government is working to double them, Mr. Skrekas specifically stated during his visit today, to a supermarket in Galatsi.
At the same time, the minister underlined that the permanent price reduction tags have been placed, and indicate that the corresponding product belongs to the program and has reduced its price by at least 5% and for at least 6 months.
He added that “the battle for the price reduction continues on three axes, that is, in continuous and intensive controls on the market, at all stages of the supply chain to prevent the phenomenon of profiteering, in the “permanent price reduction” initiative, where the suppliers, to steadily and permanently reduce the price of their products, and with the “household basket”, where the consumer can find products with the lowest prices to meet daily needs.
