The 27-year-old underwater fisherman who had been missing since Sunday, November 5, met a tragic end in the wider marine area southwest of Andros.
The 27-year-old native was spotted by a patrol boat of the Coast Guard in the sea area of Korthio bay, specifically at “Bouros” beach, at a depth of about forty meters.
An autopsy is expected to be ordered at the Athens Forensic Service
His body was retrieved in the morning hours today, Tuesday, November 7, by officers of the Underwater Missions Unit of the Coast Guard.
It is noted that the investigations carried out to locate him took part, under the coordination of the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the LS-ELAKT, an LS-ELAKT land patrol vehicle, three LS-ELAKT patrol boats, a private boat, two drones of the Greek Rescue Team, while the Andros Police Department, the Andros Fire Department and the Andros Volunteer Forest Firefighters Association were also informed for their assistance in the investigations
The Port Authority of Andros, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, is about to order a necropsy to the Athens Forensic Service.

Also, officers of the Central Port Authority of Rhodes arrested a 31-year-old foreigner yesterday afternoon.
