In the hands of the Police, the “perpetrator” of the “eternal” derby (22/10). The one who threw the famous firecracker at the Karaiskakis stadium (49′) amid the celebrations of Olympiakos’ friends for Mandi Kamara’s goal.
“As ELAS announced a little while ago: After a thorough investigation by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues of the Attica Security Directorate and utilizing information provided from the first moment by the home team, a person who threw a firecracker during football match on October 22, 2023 at the “G. Karaiskakis”.
This is a 21-year-old man, who was found today, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the morning and was brought to the headquarters of the aforementioned Service, where a case was filed against him for simple and dangerous bodily harm and violation of sports legislation.
In a subsequent search of his home, a jacket, which he wore during the match, was found and confiscated.
The case file will be submitted to the Piraeus First Instance Prosecutor’s Office.”
It is not clear if the attacker is a fan of Olympiakos
From the announcement of the Police, the assistance of PAE Olympiacos, in the effort to identify the perpetrator, is clearly visible. Something that the Red and Whites had publicly announced and as it turns out they kept to the letter in a moral commitment of great importance.
On the contrary, something else is not clarified (and probably not yet): If the perpetrator is a fan of Olympiakos. A detail that certainly has its importance.
Anyway; The question in this story is different. “War with Violence” Kyriakos Mitsotakis had declared that the Greek Government had launched, after the murder of Alkis Kampanos. And he repeated it after the sad events of August with the attack of Croatian hooligans in the center of Athens, in another case where a young man lost his life.
But what exactly is this war on incidents of Violence? What did he do with the 21-year-old he identified in this case? He found him, called him, and left him…
