THE US President Joe Biden said today that some American citizens will leave the Gaza Strip today, following the opening of the Rafah crossing with Egypt.
“We expect to see more departing in the coming days,” he said in a post on the X platform.
On Tuesday, speaking to Congress, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that about 1,000 Americans and their relatives want to leave Gaza. 400 of them are US citizens and the rest are their relatives, who do not have US citizenship.
