A KTVU investigation shed light on an unfortunate incident where a nurse, Ainah Cervantes, was trapped between an MRI machine and a bed during a freak accident.
The accident happened when the machine’s strong magnetic force unexpectedly pulled a hospital bed towards it while the nurse was attending to a patient. This unforeseen turn of events resulted in Cervantes suffering “overwhelming injuries”, requiring surgery.
The incident unfolded at a medical center in Redwood City operated by California-based health care provider Kaiser Permanente. Fortunately, the patient in the bed fell but was not injured.
