Doctors and nurses “see” a temporary solution – The Ministry of Health declares its decision for a permanent solution at the hospital
As of today, Wednesday, November 1, the three private anesthesiologists at the Venizelio Hospital will take up their duties for a period of three months, as announced by the Minister of Health Michalis Chrysochoidis from Heraklion, a development which means that the number of operating tables will increase from two to four.
A temporary solution was spoken by doctors and workers at the Venizelio Hospital who are sounding the alarm for other clinics due to understaffing.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health announces that no one and nothing will stop the smooth operation of Venizeleio with their actions or omissions and that it will not hesitate to take measures within the framework of the Law in order for everyone to perform their legal duties.
The mandates are illegal, emphasizes the member of the three-member committee of Venizelei Giorgos Kostakis.
The Medical Association of Heraklion also expresses its concern with the Clinics’ malfunctions. Among other things, he notes that the mandates are not a solution and that the practice of moving from hospitals undermines the future of the operation of the rest of the Pathological clinics on the island.
We would like to emphasize again that we are watching the developments with concern and unfortunately we do not foresee the plan that will lead to the smooth operation of the hospitals. The “orders” are clearly not a solution, but a perpetuation of the problem and if they continue, we predict that they will soon disrupt the operation of the rest of the Pathological clinics as well.
