Alert in ELAS for the rallies for the murder of Fundoulis-Kapelonis – Italian far-rights were arrested

The simultaneous demonstrations in the afternoon in Neo Heraklion, by members of the extreme right and anti-fascist groups, have raised an alarm in EL.AS, on the occasion of the completion of 10 years since the murder of the 2 members of Golden Dawn.

Police forces have been deployed near the scene of the murder of the two Golden Dawn members, Manolis Kapelonis and Giorgos Fundoulis.

Prohibition of gatherings due to fear of incidents

In the list of the Greek authorities, which cooperate with Europol, there are names of members of extreme right-wing organizations, who will return back to their country if they are detected.

The Police has ordered a ban on gatherings in Athens from 06.00 am to 6.00 am on Thursday (2/11). However, for the afternoon (7:00 p.m.) gatherings have been planned in Neo Heraklion by far-right groups, on the occasion of the murder 10 years ago of two members of Golden Dawn outside its offices.

The Authorities are worried as it is scheduled for 6 pmanti-fascist demonstration, also in Neo Heraklion.

21 far-right Italians were arrested in “El. Venizelos”.

A special incident prevention and suppression operation was organized yesterday by the Police, following information that a group of Italian far-rights would arrive at El. Venizelos on Tuesday night (31/10).

The police made 21 arrests of Italians the moment they set foot in the airport. Those arrested were taken to the Directorate of Aliens, where they remain in custody, while for reasons of national security they are expected to be deported back to Italy.

What are the authorities afraid of?

According to information from ERT, there are fears that members of European fascist organizations may already be in Athens. For this reason, the Police Authorities may take additional security measures.

Lobster in Athens – The “Heraklio” station in ISAP and suburban train is closed

More than 3,000 police officers are on foot, with the assistance of drones, while strong MAT forces will prevent the approach to the monument of the two murdered Golden Dawn members.

The Heraklion stations of Line 1 of the Metro (ISAP) and Suburban will be closed from 2:00 p.m., by order of EL.AS.

The trains will pass through the stations, without making a stop and will only reopen with a newer order from the Police.
