The death of the man who was found dead, under the metal bridge, in the Aradaina Gorge in Sfakia, Chania, is reportedly due to suicide.

He is a 43-year-old Greek-Canadian who has been in Crete for the last few days.

In accordance with cretapost.gr the unfortunate man had been seen by local residents in the village since January 29.

It all happened at noon on Tuesday, when a tourist notified the authorities that a man was unconscious under the metal bridge in the Aradaina Gorge in Sfakia.

Immediately two fire engines with four men rushed to the scene and started a search operation which ended a few minutes after 5 pm, while the police were also called at the same time.

According to information from cretapost, during their autopsy in the surrounding area, the police found a vehicle with customs plates and the 43-year-old’s personal belongings were found inside.
