A DJ has needed hospital treatment after accidentally shooting herself in the face with a confetti cannon during a concert.
THE Flavia Ribeiroknown as DJ Flavinha, suffered first degree burns and cuts to her face after her accident with a confetti cannon at a concert in Santa Catarina Brazil.
Despite the pain, the intrepid artist returned to the stage and continued to play music before finally being rushed to the hospital after the pain could no longer stand.
A viral clip of the injury has been viewed more than 10 million times since it appeared online. Footage of the explosion shows DJ Flavinha pulling out the confetti cannon first, unaware that he was holding the gun on the wrong side.
After her awkward appearance, the musician opened up about the incident in a video to her 33,000 Instagram followers.
Ribiero was seen in the clip with bandages around her neck and several cuts on her face.
“My video is going everywhere. There was an accident“, she said.
“I ran behind the sound equipment and continued to play even with a lot of blood dripping, in a lot of pain. I let my hair down and stayed there. People in my group wanted me out and I didn’t want to leave».
However, her valiant effort to endure it only lasted about 20 minutes and she admitted that eventually she “couldn’t take any more pain”.
“I left the stage, went to the emergency room at the event and then to the hospital. Now I’m recovering and everything is fine“, added the unfortunate musician.
