Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and CIA chief William Burns discussed the possibility of assassinating Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, a pro-Russian politician claims.
Speaking to Russian news agency Tass, Vladimir Rogov, president of Zaporizhia’s pro-Russian movement “We are with Russia”, claimed that during the CIA chief’s visit to Kyiv last week, “one of the demands heard from Zelensky it was the assassination of the head of the private military company Wagner’.

“Prygozhin is effective and killing him would make sense, given the pride that the Ukrainian media makes for their victories,” Rogov said.

“Zelensky’s circle of confidants and a relatively large number of people are aware of this request, that the Americans kill him [καταζητούμενο από το FBI] Prigozhin. This does not require lists, more sanctions, all this does not work anyway, especially for people who do not have assets there,” Rogov told Tass.
A few days ago, John Kirby, the coordinator of strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said that the United States has decided to designate Prigozhin’s Wagner Group as a “transnational criminal organization” and that new sanctions will soon be imposed on it.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the US decision to label the company a “criminal organization” would not affect Wagner Group or Russia.
