Murder of a 47-year-old man in Kalamata: An Albanian is being held and is being examined for the crime!

The developments in the case of the murder of a 47-year-old man in Kalamata are stormy, as according to information an Albanian is being held by the authorities and is being examined as one of the two perpetrators of the crime.

The main scenario that the authorities are considering for the mafia execution in the center of Kalamata of a 47-year-old man is the settling of accounts between criminals.

According to tharrownews, a few meters from the city’s Courthouse, at the intersection of Hydra and Solonos streets, at approximately 10:30 on the morning of Friday (21/1), unimaginable scenes unfolded for our area, with two men who were in a dark-colored minicar stopped the 47-year-old, with the driver getting out, arguing with him, hitting him and finally shooting him once near the left leg.

The 47-year-old had engaged the Authorities of our region for drug cases, while he had also been convicted of drug trafficking in America. During this period, he was out on restrictive terms, as he was accused of participating in a criminal drug trafficking organization.

They were waiting for him

It was shortly after 10.30 in the morning, when the black scooter with the 47-year-old man was moving on Hydra Street. A few meters before reaching the intersection with Solonos Street, where the Kalamata Fire Service is located, a dark “Opel Corsa” blocked his path and forced him to stop on the right side, near parked vehicles.

There were two men in the car, who were apparently watching and ambushing the 47-year-old, as information gathered suggests they were waiting for him. The driver got out, argued with the victim (indeed, according to the testimony of neighbors, he even punched him), while at the same time he took out a gun and shot him in the leg.

With quick movements, the perpetrator got into the car and, developing speed, they disappeared.

The 47-year-old man, despite being shot, managed to get up and walk a few meters to the opposite parked car, bleeding uncontrollably.

The execution car has been located

An ambulance was alerted at the scene, transporting the 47-year-old to the hospital in a very critical condition. Efforts were immediately made to revive the man and he was intubated, as he had lost too much blood, since the bullet had hit a central artery. In the end, however, and while the doctors in the operating room made superhuman efforts, the 47-year-old ended.

The scene of the murder was immediately cordoned off and the area was thoroughly investigated by the Kalamata Security Sub-Directorate and Marking. A manhunt was launched to locate the perpetrators and the car, which, according to witnesses, had license plates belonging to another region of Greece.

The Police have collected footage from cameras of the route followed by the perpetrators, while a signal was also given at all the entrances and exits of the prefecture and the tolls. At the same time, all those who were in the area have been asked to give statements, as there are several businesses and offices in that particular spot. The investigations are moving in a specific direction and on specific persons, whom the police are looking for.

Yesterday afternoon an abandoned car was found in a coastal area that resembled the descriptions given for the vehicle used by the perpetrators in the morning attack and early in the evening it was identified as this, with the Police now looking for the owner, as no theft has been reported.

However, unconfirmed information states that the 47-year-old had previously been attacked and injured outside a nightclub in the center of Kalamata by a man with whom he had a dispute and, in fact, had not reported the incident to the Police.

The investigations have been undertaken by the Kalamata Security Directorate.
