Political celebrity ahow early

The blonde and blue-eyed Thessalonian got involved in politics early, she joined the youth of PASOK at the age of 14. A decade later, in 2002, he became the youngest member of the city council of Thessaloniki.

He studied architecture and civil engineering before moving to Athens and obtaining a master’s degree in European affairs.

In 2004, she ran unsuccessfully as the youngest candidate in the national elections. Despite the failure in the elections, she won a position as a news presenter on the Mega channel, where she worked for several years.

He served in the Greek parliament from 2007 to 2012 before moving to the Belgian capital in 2014 to become an MEP with the European Social Democrats.

Kaili made a name for herself on several occasions that brought her into conflict with her party colleagues, such as initially refusing to support the prime minister George Papandreou in a crucial vote of confidence amid the financial crisis in Greece in 2011. Kaili changed her mind and Papandreou finally survived the vote.

She has been regularly photographed with Greek-Russian billionaire and media mogul Ivan Savvidis in Thessaloniki playing bouzoukis, or fancy nightclubs where live Greek folk music is heard, amidst a sea of carnations.

Kaili once claimed that her grandfather was murdered by communists, which was later proven to be completely false. He never apologized, nor was he ever held accountable by the Greek media.

The MEP became deeply involved in the EU’s increasingly immersive digital agenda, with its complex portfolios including artificial intelligence, cyber security and blockchain – the technology behind cryptocurrencies.

She worked closely with Maddalena’s sister Kaili — executive director of ELONtech, a non-governmental organization focused on the legislation of new technologies. Eva and Maddalena were close, and were often seen together at EU tech conferences or on long shopping trips in downtown Athens.

Bright life, bright couple

As one of the few Greek women in a high-profile European position, Kaili enjoyed widespread support from the local media, which hosted feature articles on her glamorous lifestyle.

Her Italian partner Giorgi also worked as a sailing instructor in addition to his day job as an MEP assistant.

A couple since 2020, they lived together with their little daughter Ariadne, who is one and a half years old.

Kaili’s Instagram reveals that she was an avid traveler – with trips between Greece, Paris, London, New York and Washington.

In the summer of 2017, he took a trip on billionaire Branson’s private island in the Caribbean which had been booked by trips to Croatia and Italy.

“When you meet legends,” she captioned a photo of herself sitting next to Branson.

But her partner Giorgi also has a jet-set Instagram that shows him sailing in the Mediterranean, skiing in the French Alps, driving a Range Rover and meeting the Dalai Lama.

One of the last trips that Eva Kaili made alone was before the start of the World Cup, in Qatar…

Since then, the developments are in the headlines and Kaili is in the prisons of Brussels.
