Brussels is shaken by the new corruption scandal in favor of Qatar. Four people, including a former Italian MEP, have been brought to Brussels on suspicion of bribery from a “Gulf country” within the European Parliament, the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office announced. Francesco Giorgi is an experienced Parliamentary Adviser in the field of foreign affairs and human rights, while at the same time he is a keen sailor. He comes from Italy and works as an assistant in the office of an Italian MEP, in the same group of European Socialists. He has been in a relationship with the Greek MEP since 2020, while in February they had a daughter together. The couple met in Brussels.
Eva Kaili had spoken about 1.5 years ago on the “Come Smile” show about motherhood, meaningfully saying “I’m late but I have to make a decision too. This period was very important because I really saw that it is a beautiful thing that changes your life, but that doesn’t mean you stop it”, while answering a question about whether he is close to having a child he confessed: “We are necessarily in a final straight”.
Also, the politician, a few days after her election as vice-president of the European Parliament, had spoken to the magazine “OK!” and she talked about meeting her partner Francesco Giorgi, how they chose their daughter’s name, and what her specialty is.
“I didn’t try to keep the pregnancy a secret, I just don’t feel comfortable publicizing something so personal, especially at a time when many families are counting losses from this unprecedented pandemic. It was also telecommuting that kept us home. It was finally learned when the baby was already 3-4 months old,” he said, among other things.
