As company officials who inspected the shipyard to determine if the ship can go for repairs commented “it was a shame to have such facilities in Greece, to remain unused and to go to Turkey”.

Tomorrow Friday an event is scheduled to take place at the Shipyards to welcome the first ship of the new era, in the presence of the Minister of Development and Investments Adonis Georgiadis.
As the president and CEO of ONEX has pointed out, Panos Xirokostas “let’s go and operate a shipyard where we can repair at least 200 commercial shipping vessels, a year, of all types and with a focus on energy ships”, while he stressed that the shipyards will be ready to reopen between June and August 2023: “The plan says that around the spring the court decision will come out regarding the validation of the shipyard remediation plan and between June and August of 2023 we will be ready to do work, to operate the shipyard. All the creditors, the State, the Tax Office, EFKA, the banks, and all the employees have agreed.”
