After Google, it is Amazon’s turn to contribute to the transformation of Naxos into an “intelligent” island, with the company’s managers scheduled this afternoon to present the initiatives for “intelligent” solutions to manage and support daily needs.
Characteristically, implementing the Prime Minister’s proposal from last summer 2021, Amazon intends to participate in ways of managing the island’s marinas, applications for distributing goods via drones not only on Naxos but also on nearby islands, telemedicine applications, high connectivity applications, sensors in parking spaces and waste bins etc.
Of particular interest is the use of drones which will be used to transport medicines and biological material, to monitor marine incidents at a distance of up to 12 kilometers from the coasts, while their design and manufacture will be Greek.
The infrastructure for the project is provided by Amazon Web Services, which also undertakes the coordination of all entities involved in the project.
