Stamatis Kokotas (Athens, March 23, 1937 – October 1, 2022) was a Greek singer.

Biography
He was born in Athens,[2] on March 23, 1937. He had a significant recording presence during the 1960s and 1970s, when he collaborated with some of the most important Greek composers of the time, such as Stavros Xarchakos, Dimos Moutsis, Apostolos Kaldaras, Giorgos Hatzinassios, Giannis Spanos, Giorgos Zambetas, Antonis Katinaris, Haris Lymberopoulos, Vangelis Pitsiladis, Lykourgos Markeas, Andreas Karagiannopoulos and others.

During the military dictatorship he participated in the junta’s April 21 anniversary celebrations at the Panathenaic Stadium among other well-known actors and singers. [4]

His characteristic feature was his long sideburns. His son, Dimitris, is also a singer.

He was a declared fan of Panathinaikos.[7] He was also involved in motor sports.[8]

He died on October 1, 2022 at the age of 85[9]
