Anyway, everyone understands that this is a difficult game for Olympiakos, as it comes from three consecutive very bad results (1-2 against Nantes, 1-1 against Volos and 0-3 against Freiburg), it has the physical and psychological wear and tear from Thursday’s Europa League game, de Aris looks to be in good shape, he is fully fit and his new manager is making his debut, so everyone will want to show.

Olympiacos has a great weakness since the beginning of the season to score in their first halves.
The few times he did it, in these first 12 games in Europe and the league, at least he didn’t lose and in one of them he won: 1-1 at Maccabi, 1-1 with Apollon Limassol and home and away, 3-1 with the Ionian.
But it is really depressing that a team like Olympiacos has scored only five goals in the first half in 12 games.
One with Maccabi and Apollo (inside and outside) and two in the Ionian. And it becomes even more difficult, when in two of those four matches in which he took the lead quickly, he eventually equalized with goals in the 94th minute and the 90th minute…
The situation, however, reaches the limit of the tragic in his second half, where in his 12 games he is in favor of the score in only two!!!
In the 2-0 against PAS, winning with the two goals in this period and in the 1-1 with Volos, equalizing towards the end. In his remaining 10 games, the scores of the second half are: with Maccabi away 0-1, with Maccabi in 0-3, with Slovan in 1-1, with Slovan away 1-1, with Apollon away 0-0, with Apollona in 0-1, with Asteras out 0-0, with Ionians in 1-1, with Nantes out 1-1 and with Freiburg in 0-2.
That is, in six it is a draw score and in four it is a defeat score! Main characteristic is his inability to score, having scored a goal (one…) in just four of them. With a total score of 7-11.
In the first half the situation is little better. There the scores are Maccabi out 1-0, Maccabi in 0-1, Slovan in 0-0, Slovan out 0-0, Apollon out 1-1, PAS in 0-0, Apollon in 1 -0, with Asteras out 0-0, with Ionian in 2-0, with Nantes out 0-1, with Volos in 0-1, with Freiburg in 0-2.
That is, in three it is a win score, in five it is a draw score and in four it is a loss score. With a total score of 5-6. When Olympiacos concedes a goal in the first half, they have four losses and one draw!
Such a thing, however, for Olympiacos to be behind in a European game so early in the score 0-2 in Karaiskakis we had to see five years, since Olympiacos-Sporting 2-3, where the score was 0-2 in the 13th minute!
With Freiburg it was 0-2 from 25′ and with the final 0-3, now the last three defeats of Olympiakos in Karaiskakis are with a score of 0-10 (!), since the previous two were 0-3 from Atalanta and the 0-4 from Maccabi.
Finally, one detail that impressed me from the game against Freiburg: in all the static phases in favor of Olympiakos, Retsos was left alone behind to cover for the Germans’ counterattacks.
I think that this choice is a huge risk and that probably by chance it didn’t cause (extra) problems.
