At Olympiakos, they are continuing the purges in the roster with Tsumits being a thing of the past.
Nikola Tsumic said goodbye to Olympiakos and signed a three-year contract with Vojvodina. The 23-year-old Serbian winger returns to his homeland and puts himself under the guidance of former Asteras Tripoli and Xanthi coach Milan Rastavac.
Born in Uzice on November 20, 1998, Nikola Čumić did not have significant time at Olympiakos, since the “red and whites” after acquiring him in 2020 had loaned him to Sporting Gijon and Lucerne. He has also played for Slobodan Uzice, Radnicki Nis and Metalac.
In his first statements as a Vojvodina player, Čumić, who will wear the No.24 shirt, said: “I am very happy to wear the Vojvodina shirt. First of all I want to thank the president Dragoljub Zbilic and the sporting director Jovanovic for the trust they have shown in me. The negotiations were long hours, but in the end we managed to find an agreement with Olympiakos and finally I became a member of Vojvodina. I liked the new project of Vojvodina, the whole city stood by the club and I expect us to be at the top this season. I came here to help and do my best so that there will be European games in Novi Sad next year. I am fully fit, I have done the preparation with Olympiakos, of course I miss competitive games, but physically I feel great. After I talk to the coach, we’ll see if I’ll be in Sunday’s game against Vozdovac.”
The president of Vojvodina, Dragoliub Zbilic, thanked the management of Olympiakos and congratulated Nikola Čumić on his transfer: “This is a big day for us, because this transfer is proof that the impossible can become possible if you want it enough. A great name has joined our ranks and we are honored that Nikola Čumić is a new member of Vojvodina. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the management of Olympiakos, led by president Marinakis, who showed that they respect our club and have a high opinion of our new project. I wish Nikola Čumić the best of luck and help us achieve our goals. After everything we’ve done so far, I really think the sky’s the limit for us.”
