Communication policy is important nowadays, but it can never beat the truth of the mirror. And a mirror in football is always the field. The wretched propaganda and obscene lies, which some think is “communication”, always, sooner or later, comes face to face with reality and is irreparably corrupted, even in the eyes of the sickest and most fanatical followers – victims of this propaganda.

AEK in the last two seasons is by far the best team in Greece. He plays the best ball, he has a competition ceiling that cannot be touched by any team from the rest, he has the luxury of having quality solutions that reach even the players who are left out of the mission. It has the best coach in the Greek league, who is also one of the best in its history. This complete “package” has arrived and has been “tied” with the return to her home, which is also the headquarters with the greatest potential. And it’s always full.

But football is also a sport of mistakes. And when the mistakes are enough, then it is logical and next to be in danger from your opponents. AEK has made several mistakes this year, and this has resulted in them not having won the title much earlier. And if we know what we’re talking about, he still hasn’t taken him. However, this does not mean that it stopped having the best team during these two years, even if it was not first in the standings.

AEK, in 21 derby series, has one defeat against PAO in Leoforos, the result of two series of individual mistakes by one of its excellent defenders. It happens in football, but it can happen once in a while. AEK, of all the derbies it has played this two years, as a competitive image, was inferior to its opponent, only once, in the derby with Olympiakos in New Philadelphia. But he beat him. And last year he had lost in a derby where she was much better than him.

AEK this year was psychologically affected by three very specific events. The first at the beginning of the season, with the shocking loss of Michalis. And this needs no explanation. The second was the unfair exclusion in Europe, and I am referring to the group. The “yellow and black” put in a lot of effort, they were competitive in all the matches, they had the second best team in creating phases and finals in the entire Europa League, but they were left out and it annoyed everyone a lot. With Matias first.

The third fact has to do with last year’s comparison with herself. Which is wrong and unfair. Because AEK in the Greek championship is not facing its last year, but Panathinaikos, PAOK and Olympiakos. And what matters is that she is better than them and not whether or not she is better than last year’s self. This whole process has led the world to this comparison, both individually, of who is better than last year compared to themselves, and as a team.

However, AEK has some constants, which derive from Almeida’s mentality and competitive philosophy. He is obviously human and makes mistakes. He is also human and is affected by unfair criticism. In other words, he can’t be dizzy with… love for his assistant every three or so times, as if football is in the 80s. AEK has found the coach it has been looking for for years and it would be good if we all understood that we should leave him alone to do his job. And we should just enjoy the amazing football performances offered by this AEK.

Unless you remember many title-deciding derbies like yesterday’s, with such competitive leveling of an opponent. A worthy opponent, with players in great shape and quality and with a good mentality. Which, however, became an obstacle to the moods of AEK of Matias Almeidas. Honestly, I will write this for the umpteenth time in these two years, there cannot be any sane person who believes that another team in Greece can, even in football terms, come close to such a performance as the one AEK did against Panathinaikos and in so many other previous matches.

The championship is clearly not over. And it is not finished because AEK did not finish it earlier. The next “final” is on Sunday in Toumba. Match obviously much more difficult. You will tell me that it cannot be easier than this against Panathinaikos, as it turned out. Maybe it’s a good thing that “Union” didn’t make a 5-0 because it might have been more difficult to recover and land on the harsh reality. Be that as it may, the championship is not over, but AEK on Sunday can and must end it with a victory in Toumba. And let Easter Monday dawn without having slept! We’re moving on…
