What did he say about the protests over Olympiakos’ goals and his opinion on Aris’ 1-0, which we still don’t know if the ball crossed the line…

The decisions of the referees in the matches Olympiacos – PAOK and Aris – AEK were discussed a lot, with Panagiotis Varouhas giving his own perspective on the disputed phases.

The veteran referee started his analysis from the Faliro derby, after the end of which PAOK expressed strong protests about the refereeing. However, Panagiotis Varouhas did not justify the people of Thessaloniki for what they are asking for in the critical phases.

Regarding the penalty, from which Olympiakos’ 1-0 score came, the refereeing professor agreed with the referee and VAR. He emphasized that there is an overthrow of Navarro by Koulierakis, while he even described the action of the Greek defender to push his opponent as unreasonable.

Accordingly, PAOK complains about a foul by Richards on Sastre at the beginning of the phase for 2-0, but Panagiotis Varouhas does not agree. Specifically, he argued that there was no foul, since the Olympiakos defender did not move towards his opponent, on the contrary, it was Sastre who fell on him.

Varuchas for the goal in the Mars – AEK: You do not knows for sure!

In the Vikelidis match, the goal for Aris 1-0 was much discussed, regarding whether the ball crossed the goal line or not. Panagiotis Varouhas was placed with a reservation, after he said that it seems that the ball crosses the entire line, but no one can be sure in such a phase without the corresponding line technology. He added that it would be good to solve this issue in the new contract that will be signed for VAR, with the addition of line technology.

The veteran referee agreed with the disallowance of AEK’s goal against Amrabad for an attacking foul (there was also an offside) when the score was at 1-1. Finally, regarding the penalty in favor of AEK that the referee took back in the 88th minute, he analyzed that there was indeed a penalty for Rose’s push on Araujo, but seconds earlier, Araujo had committed an offensive foul in the same way on Djurasek. The referee should have seen it without having to go to the replay, as Panagiotis Varouhas pointed out.
