What was said publicly by the vice-president of PAE Olympiacos, Alexis Kougia, about the match between Aris and AEK caused the prosecutor’s intervention.
A prosecutor’s investigation was triggered by statements made by the vice-president of PAE Olympiacos, Alexis Kougias, referring to the Aris-AEK match for the Stoiximan Super League playoffs, as well as the response that followed from PAE Aris.
As reported by APE-MPE, by order of the head of the First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, Dimitris Smyrnis, the first instance prosecutor, responsible for sports matters, Anastasios Kesisis, ordered a preliminary investigation to be carried out to investigate what was reported by both sides.
In the context of the criminal investigation, it will be examined whether criminal acts related to illegal betting, violations of the Sports Law and whatever else arises are documented.
The investigation is expected to be carried out by the Directorate for Combating Violence in the Sports Venues of Thessaloniki and both sides will be invited to testify.
