Panathinaikos completed the agreement for the acquisition of Andraz Sporar and officially announced the Slovenian striker and his transfer from Sporting Lisbon.
Sporar was Ivan Jovanovic’s “chosen” for the position of the main striker and Panathinaikos, with a deal of 7.5 million euros, acquired the Slovenian for the next four years.

“PAE Panathinaikos announces the acquisition by transfer from Sporting Lisbon of the Slovenian striker, Andraz Sporar. Sporar’s contract with Trefoil runs until June 2026.
Andraz Sporar was born on February 27, 1994 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He started his football career in Interblock and at the age of 18 he was already a player of Olympia Ljubljana. Constantly “loading” goals to the opposing homes, in January 2016 he was transferred to Basel, Switzerland. There, although he played several matches in the league, cup and Champions League, he found it difficult to adapt and 1.5 years later he was loaned to the German Arminia Bielefeld. Finally, in January 2018, it was awarded to Slovakian Slovan Bratislava. Sporar “fired” in bursts there (29 goals in the 2018-19 season – top scorer in the league at the time – and 12 in the first half of the 2019-20 season) as a result of which Sporting Lisbon acquired him in January 2020. In fourth country away from home, at the “lions” of Portugal, Sporar started the first season perfectly with 6 goals in 16 matches, celebrating the championship. In the second, he was not a permanent starter, as a result of which he was loaned to Braga in January 2021 and celebrated the Cup. In the summer of 2021 he was loaned to Middlesbrough, with whom he recorded 35 appearances and 8 goals in the Championship.
Sporar is a key member of the Slovenian national team with 39 appearances and 5 goals.
