The 17 teams on Sunday became 20 on Monday night. Italy, Czech republic and Slovenia were the three new teams that secured their presence in the final phase of Euro 2024 and will travel to Germany for next summer’s big football event (14/6 – 14/7).
The blue-collar side earned a much-needed 0-0 draw against Ukraine on neutral ground in Skopje and, with the advantage in the Group 3 draw, even narrowly won the chance to defend their title.
For the Czechs, things were much simpler, as by beating Moldova 3-0 they closed the duo of the 5th group with the Albanians.
On the other hand, the Slovenians were in danger in the 8th group, but Panathinaikos’ Benjamin Verbic provided the solution by scoring the precious 2-1 over Kazakhstan. In fact, the Kazakhs will be the ones that the Greek National Team will face in the attempt to overcome two obstacles and return to the finals of a Euro.
These are the 20 Euro teams
In total, Germany (host), Belgium, France, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, Austria, England, Hungary, Slovakia, Albania, Denmark, the Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Italy and Slovenia.
