Lefteris Liotopoulos, who will play in the NCAA in the 2024/25 season, is officially in the arms of Rick Pitino.
What everyone has known for a few months became official on Thursday night (9/11) as St. John’s University announced the signing of Lefteris Liotopoulos who will wear their shirt from the 2024/25 season.
The 17-year-old playmaker of the DEKA Academy is a member of the junior national team, while this year he is participating in the second national championship in which he not only succeeds, but dominates as he scores 20, 25 and 30 points. With a height of 1m.92, Liotopoulos is considered the most important talent at this age in Greece, while at the EuroBasket U18 held a few months ago in the city of Nis, Serbia, he had 14.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and one steal per 28.8 minutes in seven races.
“Lefteris is the best young man in Greece. He understands everything from our offense in terms of movement, cuts and execution” was the statement of Rick Pitino, who will have the young guard under his guidance from next season. Liotopoulos’ goal, apart from standing out in the NCAA and why not, to find himself in the NBA, is also academic honors.
