The second semi-final of the WTA Finals, Aryna Sabalenka’s big match against Iga Swiatek, was postponed until Sunday due to bad weather, with the tournament to conclude on Monday.
The new long rain in Cancun forced the organizers of the WTA Finals to move Sabalenka’s match against Swiatek to Sunday’s schedule.
The second semi-final of the WTA Finals had started normally and was interrupted in the 4th game of the 1st set, with Sabalenka serving at 1-2, 30-30. It will continue tonight, not before 23:30 Greek time, while the final has been moved to Monday.
The first semi-final also had several breaks, but it was completed, with Jessica Pegula beating Coco Gauff 6-1, 6-2.
In the meantime, the pending doubles have also gathered, where not a single point was played today, as priority was given to the singles. In the doubles table, the group stage has not yet been completed, which is why it was necessary to add an extra day to the tournament.
