Laver Cup: Stoppage in Tsitsipas-Schwartzman match – Activist invaded the court and set his hand on fire

The match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman was temporarily interrupted by an anti-climate change activist who entered the court and set his hand on fire.

The activist managed to bypass security and get to the stadium, setting his right hand on fire in protest at the use of private jets in the UK. In fact, he was wearing a T-shirt with a similar message, which read: “an end to UK private jets”.

The event was not televised, however, in the images released later, the young man’s agony was captured.

Two men rushed in, one holding the jacket to put out the flames.

The match restarted after the man was removed and the court cleaned of the flammable liquid.

“He came out of nowhere, I’ve never seen anything like that in a match before, I hope he’s good,” Tsitsipas said later.
