Ankara expressed its anger on Friday (02/09) regarding the deletion by NATO of the tweet it had made a few days ago, in which it congratulated Turkey on “Victory Day”.

It is unacceptable that NATO’s Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) removed the post from its social media commemorating the August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day in a way that would imply surrendering to self-serving and bad behavior of another NATO member“, emphasizes the Turkish Ministry of Defense in a statement, without, however, mentioning Greece.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense claims that the deletion of the controversial tweet, “following the unfounded request of a country that does not hesitate to sabotage NATO missions, has greatly damaged the identity and prestige of NATO.”

Let’s remember that the post in question, which was finally “taken down”, had provoked a strong reaction from the Greek side.
