The 23-year-old midfielder Josh Bowler is an Olympiakos player, as Nottingham announced his acquisition as well as his one-year loan to the red and whites.
Olympiacos completes yet another transfer, as it acquires him Josh Bowler in the form of a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest.
The 23-year-old England winger is expected to arrive in Greece on Friday (02/09) to complete the formalities of joining the Greek Champions and then be included in the list to be notified to UEFA for the Europa League group matches.
It is, at this point, important to mention the fact that Bowler will not occupy a foreigner’s position in the red and white roster, as he is a non-EU member from a country in the B zone of the European Union.
Last season the young midfielder played for Blackpool, with whom he had signed a contract until the summer of 2023.
The Championship club were worth €4,600,000 to offload him and eventually found the point of contact with Forest to get the deal done. In the 2021-22 season, the footballer made 45 appearances and scored eight goals, while in the current season he had two goals in the second division of England in a total of seven games.
Bowler emerged from the nursery of Fulham and QPR, before joining – as a professional now – Everton in 2017, playing exclusively in the U23 team. Before leaving the Liverpool team, he also played one season (2019-20) on loan at Hull.
He also announced Bande, a “wreck” with Batshuayi
Nottingham’s summer transfer window ended with the signing of Loic Bande. The 22-year-old French stopper went to Forest on loan and to Rennes for 500,000 euros. The agreement includes a purchase clause of 14,000,000.
In contrast, Michy Batshuayi’s case “wrecked” after Chelsea delayed sending the papers that would have progressed the player’s move to Forest.
The end of the transfer window also left one pending, after Serge Aurier agreed with Nottingham as a free agent, but his move has not yet been made official. Currently no visas and work permits have been issued.
