In the green eastern end of Long Island in the Hamptons, where the elite of the Greek-American community lives, the Blue Dream charity gala organized by Father Alex Karloutsos took place again this year. In the verdant garden of the Church of the Dormition that Father Alex has created, Antonis Remos sang for about 750 people. An event to which Albertos Burla, managing director of Pfizer, was also invited.

On the sidelines of the event, Mr. Burla, speaking to protothema.gr, said that Pfizer is now researching and preparing the annual vaccine for the coronavirus, while regarding the lawsuit filed by Moderna, Mr. Burla did not want to say anything. “We are currently preparing a vaccine that will be annual, like the one for the flu, so that people can do it once a year and be safe. I have had 4 doses of the vaccine,” he said specifically.

Mr. Burla who came from Thessaloniki where he was on vacation in the Hamptons for Father Alex’s charity event had fun with the songs of Antonis Remos while he sang and danced his heart out. In fact, when Antonis Remos thanked him for Pfizer’s offer to humans with the vaccine for the coronavirus, the world applauded.

At this event, which takes place every year, Mr. Katsimatidis, Dean Mitropoulos, Mr. Nikos Vassiliou, Mr. Polychronis Syngelidis, George Logothetis, Mr. Gas Bilirakis were also present, while Pavlos and Marie Sandal but also the mayor of Athens Mr. Costas Bakoyiannis who had a meeting earlier with the mayor of New York Eric Adam. The two men discussed the perspectives of cooperation between Athens and New York in tourism, while they also exchanged views on issues related to the proper functioning of their municipalities.

Very important was the contribution of Mr. Yiannis Horozoglou who helped, as every year, in the charity event. This was the 11th gala whose proceeds go to charity. Twice in recent years, Joe Biden has also attended the celebration, once as Vice President and once as a candidate for President of the United States, with his entire family as he has a close friendship with Father Alex and Elder Xanthi for over 40 years. Honorees of this year’s event were the non-profit organization Seleni and the organization Retreat. Seleni is a non-profit organization created to destabilize and transform mental health and wellness for women and families. The Domestic Violence Retreat provides a wide range of direct services, including five core services of Crisis Helpline, Domestic Violence Shelter, Legal Advocacy, Counseling and Prevention Education.
