In the Thessaloniki Courthouse were taken shortly before 12 noon o head of the “Church of the Nations” sect and his close associate, who were arrested at noon on Saturday following a police raid on the alleged unlicensed cult place in eastern Thessaloniki.
The two arrests “come” after the complaints, the severe reactionsbut also the prosecutor’s intervention regarding the ceremonies and the videos of the… exorcisms that took place in the previous days in Dikastirioun square, in the center of Thessaloniki, without any permission from the police and the municipality of Thessaloniki.
A case file was filed against the two men violation of the Religious Freedom Act and in a little while they are expected to cross the “threshold” of the prosecutor.
“I didn’t do anything to regret. A big thank you to all of Greece. I rejoice because I deserved to be imprisoned for the sake of Jesus Christ and my faith. Thanks to the constitution we have secularism“, said the head of the “Church of the Nations”, Charalambos Tsakonidis, upon entering the courts.
How they were caught
According to his information protothema.gr, yesterday at noon, police officers of the A.T. Thermis went to check the former “Neraida” entertainment center, where the supposed place of worship of the “Church of the Nations” was operating without a license and found that there was a ceremony in progress with the presence of about 25 people.
24-year-old Dimitris Panapakidis was arrested on the spot, as a temporary person in charge, who claimed that it is a place of worship, without, however, possessing the required license to operate a brothel of the relevant Law. A little while later, the head of the “Church of the Nations”, Charalambos Tsakonidis, presented himself to A.T. Thermis and was also arrested.
What the “Church of the Nations” says after the arrests
On Saturday night, a few hours after the arrest of the head of the “Church of the Nations” in Thessaloniki and the 24-year-old who declares himself temporarily in charge of the place of worship, their associates issued a statement – a response, through the official page they maintain on Facebook.
In the post that has gathered hundreds of comments and more than a thousand reactions, they say, “our dear fellow Greeks and all of you in the whole world who know Father Charalambos and the Synagogue, Church of All Nations of Thessaloniki, known abroad as SCOAN Thessalonica. Dear Our Christian brothers, the developments of the last hours are rapid, as the Greek Government ordered the arrest of Father Charalambos, also known abroad as Wiseman Harry. The arrest took place a few hours earlier today, Saturday 27/08/2022 around 15: 00 pm”.
The announcement then states that “the reason for his arrest is that the name of Jesus Christ was preached with power that saves, heals and frees, and this caused the devil and his agents to begin to appear in all the national channels of Greece and in all the newspapers.
The unprecedented exorcisms that took place in three consecutive events in Aristotelous Square in the center of Thessaloniki, and the testimonies of Divine healings from people from every corner of Greece and the entire world, in plain view of everyone, in the name of Jesus Christ, angered the Priests of others Christian Churches and denominations, psychiatrists, journalists and politicians.
For many consecutive days, the wonderful works of our Lord Jesus Christ played and are playing non-stop in all the Mass Media. But instead of glorifying God for His greatness and wonders, they mock His divine work and diminish His divine energy to heal disease, deliver the possessed, and change people’s lives for the better. The same was done in other times by all those who opposed the Divine work of our Lord Jesus Christ, the work of the Holy Apostles, the Fathers of the Church and the enlightened simple priests”the post says.
“The reasons for the arrest of Father Charalambos and one of his close collaborators, Mr. Dimitrios Panapakidis, were that he was operating under the management and responsibility of the Efktirio Prayer Space without the prescribed license from the competent authority. But the reality of this matter is that for a long time the Holy Church of the Church was not functioning due to construction works. For this, as you will see on the social media of our Church, the gatherings have been taking place for months on the mountain of prayer and then events took place in Aristotelous Square in the center of Thessaloniki”is highlighted.
“In the custody of the Police for the sake of the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
In her announcement “Church of the Nations” in fact, a message from Father Charalambos “to all believers of Christianity of all denominations” is conveyed:
“There is no servant greater than his Lord! If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you” (Gospel of John 15:20). I rejoice and celebrate that God deserved me to be arrested and taken to the police custody for the sake of the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
