An arrest warrant was issued for the 62-year-old antiquities guard, following allegations of sexual indecency against children in Nisyros. Felony charges were brought, including the seduction of minors and drug trafficking.
He was reported by the father of an 11-year-old boy who went to the island’s Police Department on April 15, where – as he testified – the man in question showed his son a video with pornographic material.
There had been a previous phone call from Smile of the Child where there was talk of possible sexual harassment by the 62-year-old at the expense of the 11-year-old boy.
What did the minor say?
The 11-year-old testified that the 62-year-old invited him and four other minors to his home, and when the man was alone with him, he showed him an erotic aid and pornographic material on the tablet.
According to local media, on April 19, the accused called a police officer he knew and asked him to go there and take a bag containing a plastic silicone doll, two underwear and two sex toys, and burn them.
The policeman went and took the bag but immediately handed it over to the Nisyros Police Station. On the same day, in the presence of a representative of the judicial authority, a check was made at the place where the 62-year-old lives and the police found a hidden tablet.
The police received 12 statements from minor victims and another nine statements from parents. From them it was established that from April 2023 to April 2024, the 62-year-old approached minors and invited them with various excuses to the place where he lives.
According to the statements, the 62-year-old performed sexual acts, displayed his genitals and pornographic material, possessed cannabis to minors, and attempted to perform sexual acts with a minor.
