The baby who was rescued from his dying mother’s womb after an Israeli airstrike in southern Gaza has died, the BBC reports.
Sabreen al-Sakani was born by caesarean section in a Rafah hospital shortly after midnight last Sunday.

Sabrin’s mum was 7.5 months pregnant and sleeping, along with her husband and their three-year-old daughter, when the Israeli warplanes struck shortly before midnight on Saturday.
Her husband and daughter were killed instantly, but her unborn baby was alive in her womb when rescue crews found her, seriously injured.
They immediately rushed Sabrin to the hospital, where doctors performed an emergency caesarean section to deliver the child.
Amid chaotic scenes, doctors resuscitated the baby, using a hand pump to push air into his lungs.
The little fighter appeared to have won her first battle and, although in critical condition, entered an incubator.
She weighed just 1.4 kg and had severe breathing difficulties, which, according to the doctors, was due to the fact that she was born prematurely.
“This newborn should have been in his mother’s womb right now, but she was denied that right,” said Dr. Mohamed Salama, head of the neonatal emergency unit at the Emirates Hospital in Rafah.
The baby’s grandmother told the BBC that the family planned to adopt the baby, who succumbed to his severe injuries.
