The shop at the scene of the murder was rented

The store in front of which Alkis Kampanos, who was murdered, breathed his last, was rented, with the “In the name of Alkis” structure in an open letter to the Municipality of Thessaloniki requesting the creation of a memorial space.

In her announcement, she states that after consultation with Alki’s family, everything that people left at the site in memory of the 19-year-old will be collected and temporarily stored.

“The inevitable happened… The shop at the scene of the murder of Alkis Kampanos was rented.

With a heavy heart today (after consultation with Alki’s family) we will collect and TEMPORARILY store, we believe, all that people of all ages left at the site.

T-shirts, scarves, notes, drawings… EVERYTHING conveys the energy of sensitized citizens and we will approach them with absolute respect.

We feel sadness, which reaches even stronger emotions because we are forced to withdraw the monument for Alkis (because every action that is taken is a monument, as well as every shirt that is placed at the site), but…

But we intend to turn our feelings into ACTION…

The Municipality of Thessaloniki, to be precise the previous Administration, did the… “maximum” for what happened in Thessaloniki.

He planted 3 olive trees in a park and named a street…

We address the new Administration of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and publicly request a meeting with the Mayor Mr. Angeloudis in order for the Municipality to implement one of our ideas, so as to create a memorial space at the place where Alkis Kampanos was murdered.

Mr. Mayor of Thessaloniki, we ask you to show the sensitivity, which we think you possess, and to cooperate with an organization from the Civil Society, the Structure of February 1, 2022 – In the Name of Alki, on this specific issue.
