For the crime of violence against a member of parliament during the performance of his duties, the independent member of parliament (former member of the Spartans’ Committee) Konstantinos Floros apologized this morning to the investigator of Evelpidon, after the attack on the member of Hellenic Solution Vassilis Grammenos inside the Parliament . The accused member of parliament was given a deadline to apologize today and spent the night in custody.

The offense concerns a violation of article 157 of the Civil Code, par.1, which states that “…whoever, by force or threat of force, attempts to force the President of the Republic or the person exercising presidential power, the Parliament, the Government or a member thereof into execution, omission or tolerance of an act related to their duties, as well as anyone who commits violence against them during the exercise of their duties, shall be punished by imprisonment for up to ten years. The same penalty shall be imposed if the act is directed against a leader of a political party recognized by the Parliament’s regulations.” Although this offense does not lead to temporary detention, it can result in restrictive conditions and a consequent heavy penalty if found guilty.

“I didn’t punch”

The independent member of parliament, giving his own version, claimed that “the whole scene started with Mr. Chita’s speech about the removal of Mr. Velopoulos’ immunity, which is due to a lawsuit filed by my father against Mr. Velopoulos for defamation through fake Twitter profile,” stressing that she didn’t hit him. “I grabbed him by the collar and threw him down. No punches or anything else that’s been said, nothing happened. That can be proven anyway in any way of forensics or anything if I punched anybody. If anybody has marks maybe it’s me. I also have some scratches on my neck. I dropped it like a headlock.”

In fact, he said that there were insults on behalf of the deputy Grammenos, inside the room and while the speech of Mr. Chitas began about the lifting of immunity of Mr. Velopoulos due to a lawsuit filed by the father of Mr. Floros against Mr. Velopoulos “for slander defamation” through “fake Twitter profile”. “…Mr. Chitas mentioned at some point in his speech that Mr. Velopoulos had nothing to do with this particular case.

At the time, I replied that the courts would decide that, not you. At that moment Mr. Grammenos jumped out unnecessarily and without me addressing him, he said to me, “Voulosto, you piece of trash”. I said to him “Come on c…” on my nerves because I have precedents with Mr. Grammenos. He answered me “c… your mother”. He leaves. I didn’t continue even though I turned around and said to him “what did you say?” at that moment because I don’t accept anyone putting people who have nothing to do with the specific issue into political confrontations. Let alone my family and my mother who is the most sacred thing I have. That is why I do not regret any action taken when my mother is cursed. I think everyone would react in the same way”.

Fracture of nasal bones

It is noted that the diagnosis of the doctors regarding the condition of Vassilis Grammenos after the punch of Konstantinos Floros was conveyed by the member of Hellenic Solution, Konstantinos Chitas, speaking in the peristyle of the Parliament. Specifically, according to the medical announcement, Mr. Grammenos suffers from “fractured nasal bones. Sprain and strain of the acromioclavicular joint. Traumatic rupture of the carpal and fifeocarpal ligaments. Other specified disorders of the nose.

He was fitted with a peroneal splint and received a 10-day sick leave.”
