Since October 8, just a few hours after the horror of the bloodshed by Hamas in the territories of Israel, the country’s army has been mobilizing an extremely significant force, which, however, has not been directed towards the Gaza Strip and the South.

Israel’s largest reserve force, as well as the country’s tanks, have been on red alert for six months in the North in border with Lebanon.

Hezbollah, Israel’s most threatening enemy

For Israel, it is clear from the beginning that the most threatening enemy in the region today is not Hamas, but Hezbollah. Israel also has a clear picture of the weapons systems available to the organization – government partner in Lebanon, but also of the ground forces it can oppose in the event of a generalized escalation in the region. Israel’s artillery also has at least ¾ of its arrays at points in the North with Tel Aviv’s cannons also pointing towards Syria.

Yesterday Israel’s fear of a new, stronger front in the North came to fruition. For the first time, Hezbollah in one movement – a message launched at least three kamikaze drones to the interior of Israel.

As military sources note, the specific drones may not have hit a target, but the air defense in the Israeli North was activated only after they had come within a breathing distance of the sandy shores of the city of Acre, which due to Easter and high temperatures were full of civilians.

The drones were intercepted, but Hezbollah set the tone mainly for the citizens of Israel who were running in fear to one of the shelters…

Yesterday was also the only time that citizens of Israel are seen running for cover in terror. It is this message, the terror that fuels the ambitions of the organization – a close ally of Tehran. It is also these moves that show Israel that the situation, especially in the North, has not de-escalated at any point, quite the opposite.

“Lernaean Hydra” Hezbollah and Hamas

Hezbollah can pays a heavy price every day with Israeli drones having neutralized more than 6 senior members of the Organization in the last week, but that hardly “hurts” its cause…

These organizations, like Hamas, act as a “Lernean Hydra” and it matters little who leads an attack, as long as the attack has an impact on Israel.

Until yesterday we also had no knowledge and insight into whether Hezbollah has operational Iranian drones on the southern front. That question may be settled for military analysts, but it fills with anxiety the more than 60,000 Israeli citizens who have fled their homes under the threat of attacks…

Tel Aviv’s next moves are unknown

It is true that the Netanyahu Government has made it clear from the beginning of the new ignition that there will be no retreat against anyone who attacks his country, but Hezbollah is by far a more dangerous enemy and the front in the North due to the mountainous areas much more difficult and demanding.

It is now unknown what the next move will be – a response from Tel Aviv or the Lebanese side, but it is certain that the Lebanese organization will attempt in the near future to use a wider range of its weapons in order to hit even civilian areas…
