It took almost 15 days for the Heraklion Security Police officers to arrive at the investigation of the robbery at the OPAP agency, at 62 Martyron Avenue, when the perpetrators who had set up a cartel, attacked the 27-year-old employee as she was leaving the store with her receipts week.

Police officers had “scanned” the area in a wide radius in order to find usable material from security cameras and finally managed to piece together the route of the robbers and their movements before the robbery and during their escape.

There are three alleged perpetrators, according to EL.AS, two are attributed the role of natural perpetrators, while the third is attributed to having provided critical assistance in terms of information on how and when to move the two natural perpetrators.

A 38-year-old Cretan, who has been arrested, and a 27-year-old Albanian, who is on the run, are alleged to be the perpetrators.

The third person, the one who was allegedly in the background but had an active role in other stages, is a 34-year-old Cretan who has also been arrested.

It is noteworthy, however, that – as it turns out – the 34-year-old who allegedly gave key information on how the robbery was carried out, picked up the other two people from Gazi in a Porsche Cayenne, which belongs to a relative of his. With this vehicle they also performed an “autopsy” on the spot where the agency is located, where the robbery was then committed.

Based on the evidence examined by the authorities, both the starting point and the point of return of the robbers was Gazi (specific road – dead end), from where the robbers were picked up and then returned with a stolen bicycle, which they abandoned and moved to the area of Gazi on foot where they met their accomplice.
