Fire at the Crete Naval Station – The settlement has been evacuated and patients are being transported

A fire broke out in the settlement in Navsthamos, Crete. The mobilization of the fire department was great with 55 firefighters, 2 pedestrians and 17 vehicles.

The fire is burning in a forested area while strong winds are blowing in the area, making the work of the Fire Department difficult.

The cause of the fire remains unknown so far. Bad weather conditions are hampering the efforts of firefighters, according to flashnews.

The police have closed the access of vehicles to the spot! In fact, an order was given for vehicles going to Navsthamos to return to Chania.

However, the situation remains difficult and an order was given to completely evacuate the settlement, while ambulances transport patients to the Naval Hospital of Crete.
