His approval bill for US aid to Ukraine fueled a civil war in Republican ranks, with the Trump group calling for the president’s beheading Mike Johnson.
Response: Lena Argyri
The president of the parliament is in a very difficult position, as expected. The fact that he worked with Democrats to pass the international aid package is something the fringes of his party are not going to forget.
Discussions are already taking place to activate the process of his expulsion, something we have seen done and celebrated, but this time there are serious indications that the democratic party will support him in the relevant votes. In other words, it is some kind of agreement that is not said openly, but it seems that he has made with the Democrats.
The good thing about him is that so far Donald Trump has not taken a stand against him, whom he met ten days ago at Mar-a-Lago, and if he doesn’t take a stand, his chances of being fired are drastically reduced. But the truth is that even if Johnson is temporarily saved by the Democrats, it will weaken him even more in the long run, so he doesn’t have much of a political futureaccording to well-informed circles.
