A sad story of human loneliness took place in Volos and specifically in the area in the Tsigante region of New Ionia.

For a week, a 63-year-old woman remained unburied since no one was interested in burying her.

The 63-year-old woman died at her home in Nea Ionia, Volos, on October 28, while her elderly partner lived with her body for hours, without notifying anyone.

According to thenewspaper.gr, her 93-year-old partner slept with her body all night without being able to realize what happened.

Her 93-year-old partner reported to the police that he found the 63-year-old dead when he woke up in the morning.

As soon as he realized that the unfortunate woman was dead he went out on the balcony shouting for help.

The woman, who had no close relatives, stayed at the morgue for a week after no one cared to bury her.

Her 93-year-old partner stated that he does not want to take responsibility for her funeral and according to the newspaper he did not even attend the funeral service that was finally held the day before yesterday in Volos.
