Georgiadis: Anger at the statement that “no Greek is interested in Tempi”

The statement of Adonis Georgiadis on the tragedy of Tempi breaks the counter of cynicism. The Minister of Labor argued that “no Greek is interested in the preliminary investigation for Tempi”, that this is an issue that concerns only the Left “which deals with its microcosm and not with the real problems” of the Greeks.

In fact, in his opinion, the unprecedented political dominance of Kyriakos Mitsotakis is also due to this preoccupation of the Left with these… subordinate issues.

The cynical – and insulting to the people – statement provoked angry reactions, largely confirming those who accuse the government of believing that the case and the search for responsibility for the “crime” in Tempe on February 28, 2023 with 57 dead ended in the elections , something Makis Voridis also claimed.

Statements like these vindicate those who say that the government read an “acquittal” into the election result for the Tempe tragedy and the wiretapping scandal.

The brother of the victim in the tragedy gave a mouth-watering answer to Mr. Georgiadis. “At least 57 are interested” he writes in his post.

SYRIZA is asking for the prime minister to take a stand and clarify whether he agrees with what Mr. Georgiadis said, speaking of an “unprecedented crescendo of vulgarity” by Mr. Georgiadis “surpassing even his worst self” and of the government’s inability to hide her cynicism and inhumanity.

The cynical statement

Referring (Real FM) to the reasons for the dominance of Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the political scene, the vice-president of New Democracy unfolded his views in an inexplicable way, causing, as expected, reactions.

Ad said. Georgiadis: “Kyriakos Mitsotakis enjoys unprecedented political sovereignty. In my opinion, the main reason he has this political dominance is because all his political opponents have decided – I don’t know for what reasons – instead of dealing with things that really concern the Greeks, to deal with things that concern no one but themselves their microcosm. That is, today in Greece, how many of our hundred fellow citizens do you think, if we ask them, are interested in an investigative or pre-investigative committee for Tempi? And how many care about accuracy, how many care about their child getting a job, how many care about immigration, how many care about security? Want to do an experiment? Do it on Realfm, out of curiosity?’ he said and neither more nor less implied that the crime of Tempe and the wiretapping do not concern the citizens of the country but the “microcosm” of the Left.

The minister deified the prime minister saying that “people have let Mitsotakis be the only politician in Greece who deals with the real problems. It’s not that he does it perfectly. With right and wrong. But, anyway, if you look at it from afar, the politician with the real problems in Greece is the following one: Mitsotakis” and criticizing his political opponents he emphasized: “What they are doing is suicidal for themselves. They deal with issues that concern no one in Greece. They deal with e.g. with the wiretapping”.

It should be noted that the position of Ad. Georgiadis comes to be added to the recent statement of the other “blue” transfer from LAOS, the Minister of State, Makis Voridis who supported (ANT1) a few days ago: “The opposition coming and telling us “let’s let’s talk about Tempi” is one of the things you said in a time with much greater proximity, they were decided by two elections, you want to stick to them, you are doing well and persist”.

Angry reactions

The statements of the minister and vice-president of the ND as expected they caused reactions.

The press representative of SYRIZA-PS, Dora Avgeri, considers that Ad. Georgiadis “must apologize immediately, primarily to the relatives of the victims”. He also called on the prime minister to take a stand on whether he agrees with the statements and emphasized that “now, in the government, they cannot hide their cynicism and inhumanity, just as they cannot hide the truth.”

According to Mr. Geogiadis, the need to investigate the responsibilities for a tragedy that shocked Greece and plunged dozens of families into mourning is a matter of gallop and polling trends. Is it also for the prime minister?

Mr. Georgiadis must immediately apologize, primarily to the relatives of the victims. In any case, we leave him to the judgment of the citizens.

With his post on social media, Vangelis Vlachos, brother of the Tempe victim, gave a mouth-watering answer to the Minister saying: “Of the 100 who were on the engines and in the first carriages, at least 57 are asking. But since they no longer have a voice, we lend them ours”.

“Are you saying people don’t care about your crimes, their capture, and your serial degradation of human life, justice, and intelligence?” asked Evdokia Tsagli, who was inside the fatal train and managed to survive.
