As of today, Nikos Youtsos, who “passed away” at the age of 81, is in the neighborhood of angels.

A legend of Olympiakos and Greek football, who honored the jersey of the team of the great port for many years and wrote his name in golden letters in the history of the Piraeus club.

He wrote history with the colors of Olympiakos

Nikos Youtsos played for Olympiakos for ten years. From 1964 to 1974 and made 276 appearances, scoring 100 goals. After his departure from the Red and Whites, he played for the National team, where he remained until 1976, having 43 appearances and 2 goals.

The news of his death plunged the Olympiakos family into mourning, as well as the entire Greek football, as he was one of the most beloved footballers of the “red and white” stage, and of the whole of Greece.

499 games with 211 goals

Nikos Youtsos was of course a member of the national team, with which he had 6 goals in 15 matches. His first participation with the blue and white was on 23/5/1965 in an away game against the USSR, in a match for the qualifiers for the 1966 World Cup.

With the colors of Olympiakos, Nikos Youtsos won four championships (1966, 1967, 1973, 1974), but also four Cups (1964, 1968, 1971, 1973). In total, in his career, he played in 499 matches and scored 211 goals.
