A California man with the number “420” tattooed on his head, who is accused of beheading a female relative and fleeing the crime scene with her head, has been arrested in San Francisco, police said.

Luis Aroyo-Lopez, 24, was arrested at the Transbay terminal around 7:30 a.m. Saturday after San Francisco police officers recognized him from the description of a Santa Rosa murder suspect, KRON reported.

Police said the woman, who has not yet been identified, is a relative of Arroyo-Lopez, though her relationship to him was not immediately clear.

The arrest comes after a frantic search for Aroyo-Lopez after Santa Rosa police discovered the decapitated body of a woman inside a residence Thursday.

The woman’s head was missing, and police believe Aroyo-Lopez took it with him when he fled the gruesome crime scene on foot, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Police have not said whether or not the victim’s head has been found since his arrest.

Police said the woman, who has not yet been identified, is a relative of Arroyo-Lopez, though her relationship to him was not immediately clear.

After being identified as a suspect considered “armed and dangerous,” police released a photo of him, revealing his prominent tattoo of “420” and a marijuana leaf on the left side of his head.

Aroyo-Lopez was recently released from state prison and placed on post-release supervision. He had previously been jailed for assault with a deadly weapon and weapons possession in an unrelated incident, police said.
