Pitsilis: An influencer who systematically escaped has been identified – Social Media under the microscope

AADE has identified an influencer who systematically escaped, as revealed by the commander of the Independent Authority Giorgos Pitsilis, who even emphasized that tax evasion is also monitored through Social Media. As he mentioned, many cases are ongoing and relevant announcements are expected to be made.

Speaking on Parapolitika 90.1, Giorgos Pitsilis pointed out about the influencers who have come under the microscope of the Ministry of Development for tax evasion: “There are not a few influencers. It seems that the market has also set up price lists according to how many followers each person has, which for us is information, which helps us to do what we call an indirect control technique.”

When asked if all the famous influencers who sell items through Social Media will be investigated, the AADE commander said: “Just as we check other categories, we will check this one as well. There are ongoing cases. I don’t want to focus on one category of taxpayers, the range is wide. This is a market that is becoming more and more visible and regulated and we are also getting a lot of information now. For us, it is very important to go to our audits well-read if we leave the model of “I go out and find what I find”. When we knock on a door, we must know in advance which door we are knocking on and what we are going to find.”
