It is recalled that the perpetrators were riding in a car with which they blocked the road of the 47-year-old motorcyclist, forcing him to stop at the intersection of Hydra and Solonos, and then got out and began beating him mercilessly. Immediately after, one of them shot the “American”, then they got back into the car and disappeared at high speed.
An announcement about the murder was issued by Greek police. It states that they were identified as perpetrators 22-year-old Greek and 38-year-old foreigner, of which the first was arrested, while the last is wanted.

The immediate actions of the police officers of the Kalamata Security Sub-Directorate and the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Kalamata Security Sub-Directorate, led to the investigation of a homicide against a 47-year-old citizen, which took place in the morning hours of 20.1.2023, in Kalamata, Messinia (refer to the 20.1.2023 Press Release of our Service).
A 22-year-old citizen and a 38-year-old foreigner were identified as perpetrators, of whom the 22-year-old was arrested, while the 38-year-old is being sought.
A case was filed against them, for homicide, while the 38-year-old is also accused of violating the weapons legislation.
In particular, as emerged from the thorough police investigation, yesterday (20.1.2023) morning, in Kalamata, Messinia, the above perpetrators were waiting for the 47-year-old, after a prior consultation between them, where the 38-year-old quarreled with him and then shot him. They then got into a vehicle and fled.
In the context of an organized operation carried out by the above police officers, the 22-year-old was spotted today (21.1.2023) at noon in Kalamata and arrested.
In addition, two citizens, aged 40 and 50, respectively, were arrested, against whom a case was filed for false testimony and supporting a criminal.
Finally, the above vehicle was found and confiscated.
Those arrested with the case filed against them will be prosecuted competently, while the police investigation and the pre-investigation work are carried out by the Kalamata Security Sub-Directorate”.
For days, the police have launched a manhunt to locate the two people who they shot and killed the 47-year-old.
According to reports, the victim previously lived in America together with his brothers and had returned to Kalamata. According to the same sources, he had delinquent behavior and was involved in night circles that had to do with drugs.
The most likely scenario that the police were considering from the beginning is settling drug bills.
