New information about the arrest of Eva Kaili and the large amount of money found at home are coming to light.

At the moment when the Greek authorities ordered the freezing of the assets and accounts of the MEP, as well as her relatives, the newspaper “Le Soir” reveals the searches carried out in the homes of those involved in the scandal, including that of the former vice president of the European Parliament.

Well hidden thousands of euros

According to information carried by MEGA’s Live News show, the Belgian authorities found the 150,000 euros under the child’s bed, in Eva Kaili’s house in Belgium.

However, the family’s lawyer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, said that there is no crib in the house, as the family told him, without being able to confirm or deny if or where any money was found.

No problem with accounts

Speaking to LIVE NEWS and Nikos Evaggelatos, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, lawyer of Mandalenas Kailis, argued that tomorrow there will be a request to “unfreeze” their accounts, as no problem has arisen with them.

“There is absolutely no problem with the accounts and financial data of either the father or the sister. I tell you categorically that there is no problem. The only accounts that exist are one where the sister’s salary of 1,200 euros per month goes and an account of the father who is a civil servant. We will apply tomorrow morning to release the accounts where the salaries are entered.”

According to Mr. Dimitrakopoulos, “it is not true that there is a ban on the exit of Eva Kaili’s father from Belgium. He can return to Greece at any time. He voluntarily sits as any father would do when his child has such a serious problem.”

Regarding the money that, according to the Belgian media, was found in the possession of Eva Kaili’s father, the lawyer noted that he cannot confirm this.

“The pre-trial is confidential and nothing is leaked. Confidentiality is maintained. I don’t know if they were found or not.

“There is no crib”

According to Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, the information that “the alleged money” was found under a cot in Eva Kaili’s residence in Brussels, upset her sister, as “there is no cot, it is a floor structure”.

“I don’t know if any money was seized inside the residence. There is no possibility of communication with her parents,” the lawyer also said, noting that the MEP only communicates with her lawyers.
