As the Polish media reported on Friday morning, citing information from a reporter of the Polish news agency, Igor Sypniewski, former Panathinaikos football player, is no longer alive.

The former striker of Panathinaikos, Kallithea, OFI and Kavala, Igor Sypniewski breathed his last at the age of 47, as reported by the Polish news agency and reproduced by all the major media of the country on Friday morning (3/11). He was considered, when he first appeared on the football scene, one of the greatest talents of his generation.

The initial station of his career in our country was Kavala (1997-98) before he was transferred to Trifylli where he remained until 2001. In 2002 he also wore the shirt of Kallithea, while previously spending 6 months at OFI.

With the national colors of Poland he competed twice. With the Greek teams, he played a total of 116 games in all competitions, scoring 28 goals.

During his short life, Szypniewski had health problems due to alcoholism, while due to other criminal acts he was imprisoned.
