Forever by Prince Philip’s side
The Queen Mother and her father are buried there, as are the ashes of her sister, Princess Margaret. As for Prince Philip’s coffin, which was placed in the nearby royal crypt after his death last April, it will also be moved and placed next to the coffin of his wife and Queen Elizabeth.

This particular monumental annex in which the Queen will be buried was built in accordance with the wishes of her father, King George VI, who did not want her to remain buried in the royal crypt. It is 5.5 meters high and three meters wide, it was completed in 1969 and cost around £25,000, with the costs being covered by the Queen. This place houses the remains of a total of 45 royals, including 10 monarchs and another seven of their wives.
