With special dedicated broadcasts, plays and music, ERT radio stations transport listeners to the overwhelming atmosphere and atmosphere of Holy Week.

Specifically, the program from Saturday of Lazarus, April 27 up to Good Friday, May 3, 2024, becomes as follows:

FIRST PROGRAM 91.6 & 105.8

The First Program adapts its broadcasts to the climate of the days, maintaining its informative character. As every year and throughout Holy Week, the Holy Masses, culminating in Sequence of the Resurrection on Saturday night.

SECOND PROGRAM 103.7

The Second Program 103.7 adapts to the special atmosphere of Holy Week with special shows, tributes and selections from the precious File of Hellenic Radio.

From the Holy Monday, April 29 up to Easter Monday, May 6, 2024the producers of Deutero select songs and music that create a soundscape drenched in the emotion of Passion Week and blooming with the joy and upliftment of the Resurrection.

M. Monday-M. Friday, 21:00: “Medicated time lingers” – Words and years that did not go to waste, through the lyrics of Manos Eleftheriou. THE George Tsampras dedicates the evenings of Holy Week to the Passion and redemption, as uniquely narrated by Manos Eleftheriou in his unparalleled journey in Greek song.

M. Monday – M. Wednesday, time 23:00-01:00: “Ben Hur”
Lewis Wallace’s iconic novel was adapted for radio, dramatized and presented by Hellenic Radio in six parts in April 1965. This year, Deutero will broadcast this historic production in three installments, from M. Monday to M. Wednesday.

M. Thursday 02/05/2024, time 23:00: “When the Glorious are Learned”
“When the Glorious Disciples” is a chapter from Italian author Giovanni Papini’s book “The History of Christ” or “The Christ” (1921). Its atmospheric radio transmission was based on the translation of Eleftheria Danou and the interpretations of Yannis Fertis and Petros Fyssoun.

M. Friday 03/05/2024, time 23:00: “The Woman of Zakythos”
“The wife of Zakythos” is one of the only two prose texts left to us by Dionysios Solomos and is a reference work for Greek Letters. The recording of the work with his voice also has a monumental character Manos Katrakis and the voices of its members Greek Byzantine Choir, which was broadcast for the first time by Hellenic Radio in April 1982.

THIRD PROGRAM 90.9 & 95.6

07:00-08.00: From M. Monday and throughout Holy Week o Agis Gyftopoulos, guided by the “Seven Sayings of the Lord on the Cross of Martyrdom”, he invites us on a journey from the 17th to the 21st century.

08:00-10:00: Sta “Tuesday Mornings” The George Florakis, throughout Holy Week presents works full of emotion. Works by composers such as: Henryk Gorecki, Arvo Part, Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Benjamin Britten, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and others are heard.

20:10-21:05: THE George N. Florakis presents the work “Licknon” her Kalliopis Tsoupakis. A work for tenor, countertenor and baroque ensemble, commissioned by the November Music Festival of the Netherlands, 2019.

Holy Wednesday
13:00-14:00: Christos Papageorgiou presents the current hymn of Good Friday “Oh dear, ear” in separate interpretations.

19:00-20:00: THE Giannis Filias conveys her prayers “Yentl» as inspired by Michel Legrand, and as interpreted by Barbra Streisand in the film of the same name.

20:10-21:05: THE George N. Florakis presents the third and final part of the requiem “Licknon” her Kalliopis Tsoupakis. 18:00-18:30: THE Thanos Manzanas presents the third album of the American rock band Electric Prunes, “Mass In F Minor”, the first and perhaps only Requiem that is a combination of classical music and rock.

Good Friday

THE Thanos Manzanas presents excerpts from the albums “Litany” and “The Symphonies” by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.

THE VOICE OF GREECE

M. Paraskevitime 20:00-22:00. THE Peter Adam presents excerpts from three historic recordings with gospel-soul’s greatest voice, the Aretha Franklin. A hymnographic depiction of the Divine Passion, a poetic reminder of the perishability of human existence, where ecclesiastical poetry meets modern Greek poets, such as Kiki Dimoulas and the Yannis Ritsos.

“Dead Brother’s”
The show is centered around one of the most important examples of folk poetry, which can be found in various variations throughout the Balkans. Areti in Greece becomes Petka or Petkana in Bulgaria, Jelitsa in Serbia.

THE Thomas Sideris it places the variations of the poem in “open conversation”, in a single geographical space where the local cultural elements, cultures and experiences of the Balkan peoples narrate the common fate of the people.
