Eleven songs that the country star Johnny Cash he recorded roughly in 1993, but without having time to complete them, they will be released on June 28, on a new album entitled “Songwriter”. One of the songs, titled Well Alright, was released online on Tuesday.

The songs were re-recorded by a group of musicians who had worked with Johnny Cash in the past, such as guitarist Marty Stewartthe drummer Pete Abbott and the bassist Dave Roy.

The recordings also feature guest appearances by country singer Vince Gill and the rock band Black Keys. Kas’s vocal performances from the 1993 demo have been added to the new recordings.

The project is co-produced by the son of the famous artist, John Carter Cash, along with David “Fergie” Ferguson.

Among other things, the songs deal with the artist’s experiences such as drug addiction, as well as issues such as the state of the planet. It is recalled that Johnny Cash died in 2003 from complications due to diabetes.
