The Headquarters of ELAS issued an announcement-response regarding publications that are reproduced in the Mass Media and refer to a citizen’s complaint, according to which, in a call made to the call center of the Attica Immediate Action Division (100), he was put on hold for a long time.

In particular, as emphasized in the announcement: “Following relevant orders of the new Political and Physical Leadership of the Hellenic Police, the Direct Action Directorate of Attica is constantly being reinforced, with the result that the police personnel of the call center (100) per shift has doubled.

In this context, the average call waiting time to 100 is less than 5 seconds.

For example, in the three-day period April 17-19, 2024, the period to which this complaint relates, in a total of 20,022 calls made to 100, the response time of the operators was as follows:

– From 1 to 5 seconds in 85.52% of calls (-17,123- calls)

– From 6 to 20 seconds in 13.67% of calls (-2,736- calls)

– From 21 to 30 seconds in 0.74% of calls (-148- calls)

– From 31 to 60 seconds in 0.07% of calls (-15- calls)

– From 60 seconds and above, no call.

At the same time, the police officers working in the call center are currently being trained by qualified psychologists and scientists, with the aim of improving their skills for the best possible management of incidents.

The Greek Police, with the sole aim of strengthening the sense of security and preventing and dealing with criminal and dangerous phenomena, is next to the citizens without interruption, performing its duty with a high sense of responsibility”.
